Today was a fun day of firsts.
It was the first day AngelBaby wore actual shoes.
The first time Ladybug participated in the sustainings at church (she thought it was fun to raise her hand).
It was the first time Butterfly said the prayer in Primary (she did so great! I stood by the door to listen and she motioned me to go away but I came back just in time to hear her. She wasn't scared at all, didn't need any help and was heart-meltingly sweet and sincere.)
And it was the first time I shoveled snow. Somehow I made it over ten year of living in Utah without ever having to actually do it myself (thanks to campus living and a thoughtful, dedicated husband). The storm dumped several inches on us. Daddy shoveled a narrow path for my tires so we could make it to church on time, but when we returned home this afternoon (and Daddy stayed for meetings), the plow had been through the neighborhood and left a wall of snow blocking the driveway. I left the car parked in the street and began to shovel. I made slow progress with the heavy wet slush but after 20 minutes, the snowplow driver came around again and took pity on me (not sure if it was the dress and heels or the car full of bored children that were most convincing). He cleared the massive wall and the driveway itself! I wish I knew how to send him a proper thank you because I appreciated it more than he could know.
