Cookie Day

Thursday is cookie day at our house.  It became tradition because I was making cookies to take to my FPU class every week.  But now class is over and we make cookies just because I have these two adorable little chefs who love to help.  This week we made Gram's Gingerbread cookie recipe.  We baked them yesterday (taking advantage of the random rainy cold weather) and spent this morning frosting them.  Sticky little fingers worked busily with excessive piles of sugar crystals and brightly colored sprinkles and they turned out pretty awesome.  Ladybug eats as much as she sprinkles with her generous handfuls piling high on each cookie while Butterfly meticulously and artistically creates patterns and splashes of mixed colors on each masterpiece.  Meanwhile, AngelBaby was watching from her high chair, contently munching on frozen peas and carrots (perfect summer snack, I can't believe it took me until baby 3 to catch on).  The tray of cookies were bumped and shuffled, inching closer to her reach. Finally, success!  She swiped a butterfly shaped cookie nearly as big as her face and promptly began devouring it.  Cookie day success for all.
