I have to admit, when it comes to food, I’m proud of my
kids. They are growing up to be total
foodies. Especially the oldest. L’s favorite food is salmon, usually followed
closely by things like grilled zuchinni, stuffed mushrooms, crab, etc. Truthfully, the other two would live on ramen
(and I swear we didn’t raise them any different). But all three of them are really good about
trying new foods or eating a variety of flavors. They love soup (especially my chicken salsa
stew), tortellini alfredo, steamed artichokes, chicken pot pies, tikki masala and more. Their favorite restaurant in town is a sushi place
where they devour edamame and pot stickers.
Tonight I made pasta, knowing its always fast to make and
that the girls love it. As usual, L ate
a serving size that you’d expect for her age.
A ate about twice as much, after dousing it with salt. And E made it through even a third round,
eagerly eating without any kind of encouragement or bribing. But my favorite part is when she asks dad “Lady
and the Tramp?” Then, finding a long
noodle, she feeds him one ends, starts herself on the other and meets him in
the middle. So cute!
