my happy today was during church. Z slept soundly in his carseat so Husband got to cuddle A. E sat between L and me. She laid her head down on my lap and asked for Z's extra blanket which unfortunately I had forgotten. Summer has been so exhausting for her that she has slept through sacrament meeting the last few weeks. But without the comfort of a blanket, she was a little restless. L gathered up the fullness of her own skirt, scooter close and used her skirt to cover E. And then we used the length of my skirt to tuck her in too. And so the three of us cuddled close, L leaning in to gently stroke E's forehead and nose and cheekbones, just like we do to Z as he drifts off to sleep.
my sad today is that I'm really tired! Z woke up early, eager to play and fell back asleep just as sisters were waking up. The morning was good but busy. Then church and a wonderful evening spent at a friend's house playing and having dinner. (our three girls and their three boys created a house/school game and they were being so dang cute in their imagination play) Such a great day but not so restful!
