We spend a lot of time cuddling and watching movies lately.
Ladybug's favorites are Finding Nemo, Tangled, Hercules, Cinderella and Pocahontas. and she LOVES Sesame Street and Mickey Mouse.
Butterfly's favorites tend to change more frequently and she likes to watch lots of different movies (versus Ladybug who contentedly watches the same ones over and over). But she especially loves Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Tangled, Strawberry Shortcake and Toy Story. Favorite tv shows include Sesame Street, Blues Clues and Cat in the Hat.
The recent family favorite (which the girls will actually ask for) is Glee (otherwise known as "the dancing movie"). About once a week, daddy and the girls pop a huge bowl of popcorn and we go downstairs to watch the dancing movie. The girls watch and cuddle until the popcorn is gone (about 15 minutes) and then become more interested in their toys and books. So they play and read while daddy and I lounge around watching the movie and eating whatever pretend food they have cooked for us. Until another song comes on. Then both girls race back in front of the tv to dance like crazy people with lots of twirling and jumping and somersaults.
is baby number 3 dancing too or is she staying put? keep us posted.
ReplyDeletelove you all!
baby3 is content to stay put for now. but we get a green light soon and hope she will suddenly be eager to escape again.
ReplyDeleteI forgot how much our girls responded to music, even in utero! They would move and dance and kick for fun upbeat music but I could even feel a relaxed, mellow response to softer music like church music or country. (Butterfly liked the rock music, Ladybug preferred country) :) I haven't felt this one be as responsive but I think we've had less opportunity to observe--no more long commutes to work and I'm usually distracted by the girls that are jumping on me rather than in me. :(
