Today was a crazy day of doctor's appts (post op follow up visit for Ladybug, she's doing great, plus a check up for the baby, also doing great, nothing new to report), errands, shopping and swimming lessons (my children are fish!) Butterfly is taking swimming lessons this week from a friend in the neighborhood. He's incredibly good with her, making every new task or challenge into a game and she just flirts outrageously with him. Meanwhile, Ladybug and I hang out in the other end of the pool. (I didn't think it would be fair for Butterfly to go swimming but not Ladybug. So we just go and play in the water during Butterfly's lesson. But Ladybug has done surprisingly well at mimicking everything the teacher tells Butterfly to do so we might extend into next week and do lessons for both of them. The hardest part is trying to keep her ears out of the water since she has no fear and loves to jump in or float on her back.)
So this evening we hung out at home. For dinner, we had a picnic on the floor while watching a movie (never tried it before, the girls had to be frequently reminded to eat but that happens even at the dinner table) and then cuddled for the rest of the movie. Or at least me and Butterfly cuddled. Ladybug ran around like a crazy person and dumped out the entire basket of toys. Then she spent the evening playing with the Little People figurines in their dollhouse (I love watching her pretend with them such as having dinner or going to the park or putting them to bed), building with her Megablocks (bringing her creations to me and announcing "I did it!") or taking care of her dollies. Butterfly cuddled against me to watch the movie. The best part was during a "scary" scene when she hugged my belly and said "It's okay baby, it will be okay, don't be scared." She loves to ask what the baby is doing and constantly pats or rubs my belly and she sounds so adorably proud when she tells people she has TWO sisters.
