this morning, Butterfly was looking at a picture of daddy rock climbing and asked "daddy can I go climb rocks with you please?!" I think it made his day.
Last weekend, we planned a family date night of dinner and taking the girls to the theater to see the new Smurfs movie. but Ladybug was so tired and cranky that we quickly decided she wouldn't make it through the movie or let us enjoy it. So I dropped daddy and Butterfly off at the theater and took Ladybug home. Apparently, they had a great time. She watched half the movie while sitting in her own chair and then cuddled in daddy's lap for the rest of it. When she came home, she proudly showed me her "tickets"--the receipts from the admission and buying popcorn. She folded them neatly and tucked them into her pockets. When it was time for bed, she carefully put her tickets on the nightstand and begged me not to throw them away saying, "it my tickets from my date with daddy!" :)
Last night was a perfect example of Ladybug's favorite moment with daddy. We turned of Finding Nemo (her favorite movie) and she curled up on his chest holding and cuddling her favorite blanket while he played with her hair. (I was kind of jealous)
Ladybug was looking at pictures on my phone and in frustration, pushed on my arm asking "where daddy pictures?" so I found a picture of her and daddy. She took the phone back and alternated gazing at it and hugging it for the next ten minutes.
one of the girls favorite things to do is have a picnic with daddy at his work. Except its not really a picnic as we eat indoors and at a table. But they think getting to visit him at work is so much fun. They eagerly help me put together lunch and climb in the car. And then when we arrive at his work they run around like crazy people, exploring and saying hi to everyone. They both insist on sitting by daddy and fawn over him as we eat. No matter what they have, his food always looks better and they beg "can I have a bite?", which he of course is willing to share. Then they beg to color, wanting to use the white board and markers at his office (and inevitably end up with markers on their clothes and legs)
other fun cute things:
-Butterfly told me she wants to be a ninja so she can shoo the bad guys.
-and she wants a dog. more specifically, a pink one. but tiny so she can hold it in her hand.
-Ladybug now insists on putting on her own shoes (including buckles)
-Ladybug can sing the abc song by herself without mistakes. thank you sesame street.
